Don’t be Panic during College Exam


Feeling a little anxious when faced with actual exam is normal. Even a slight feeling of anxiety may encourage the spirit of your learning and keep you motivated. However, excessive anxiety can interfere with your learning. You might be difficult to learn and remember the lecture material that will be tested. In addition, excessive anxiety may also hinder your performance in exams. You may be hard to show what you already know the test. Here are some things you can do prior to, during, and after the test to reduce anxiety for exams.

  1. Use learning techniques to be able to learn the course material that will be tested cognitively. This  will help you approach the exam with confidence, and not excessive anxiety. Develop good study habits.
  2. Keep a positive attitude when you’re learning. Suppose that exam as a chance to show how far you have learned.
  3. Go into the exam room with the condition of enough rest and eat enough. Sleep with enough in the evening before the exam. Stay relaxed during the exam. Inhale slowly and deeply. This could help. Concentrate on positive statements such as “I can do this.”
  4. Follow the lesson plans you have made for these exams. Do not panic even if the exam was difficult. Stay with your learning plan.
  5. Do not care about other students who completed exams ahead of you. Use the time you need to do your best.
  6. After completing the exam and submit your answers, you can forget it for a test. There’s nothing more you can do until the test results returned to you. Divert your attention and efforts on new assignments and exams to come.
  7. When the test results returned to you, Analyze the results to find out where your advantages and disadvantages in these exams. Learn from your mistakes and successes.
